Pleasant. Excellent - sensitive direction. Very moving. Every sentimental and cute cliche, but an absolutely BRILLIANT movie that really pulled it off. Loved it. Beautiful film. Loved it. A lovely film - very funny at times and very moving. Very moving at times — especially at the audition for school entry. Best film of the season. A*. Over the top for the first few minutes, but then I loved it. Well, wasn’t that nice! Grade A. Very good. A-. But, how did they succeed without an interpreter. You would need a heart of stone not to be moved. Not the predictable American campus movie I was expecting. It turned out to be extremely moving and instructive in the difficulties faced by non-hearing families. A Hollywood ending - a bit slushy? - Yes but I forgave them. Happy, sad, good feel good movie.
