The eyes carried all the emotion. Beautiful film. Huge sensitivity in the expression and understanding of a child’s language of loss. Wonderful acting – in the heart of the emotion. Very good. Brilliant acting by the children – and the adults weren’t bad either. An excellent portrayal of child psychology! Frida – tremendous performance – loss and love. Superb film – good portrayal of a child’s confusion. The slow grieving process seen through a child’s eyes. Was very glad nothing terrible happened to the children. Touching film showing the difficulty of having to move unintentionally into a new family. Excellent portrayal of a five year old. Some tender moments and an underlying feeling of helplessness. Tremendous acting – especially the children. Thought the cat would be in the pond. Impressive acting and direction. The relationship between Frida and Anna was very real. Anna was a star! Film not improved by jerky camera rate. It took a while to get going but when it did I could not relax ‘ cos I was worried about Anna’. Overall I enjoyed it but what a strange ending after such a happy family scene. Bit drawn out, could have slapped the lot of them – why not talk to Frida? Novel idea? Sad premise, but pedestrian and lacking in plot.
