It won me over. Surprisingly enjoyable. A delightful film with several twists and turns. Very funny and subtle. An A as I’m a sucker for romance! Very absorbing with a nice happy ending. Wonderful. Funny and touching. A tale of today. Love a feel good film before Christmas. Took me some time to adjust to the Pak-American repartee, but it ended well. Found it shallow, lacking depth. Conversations at times banal. Cultural clashes well depicted. Entertaining with a subtle underlying message. This had the making of a very good film – the culture clash, a lot of humour and some good acting. However, I’ve marked it down because of the bad language! Not high quality cinema, but I did enjoy it. Need severe editing. It looked like an American sitcom, stretched. Holly Hunter was brilliant as Emily’s Mum. Direction, acting and storyline very mediocre. Good story but a bit weakly performed. Quite entertaining. Could have been good. But why so much guff to sit through? Predictable. Poor story line – all a bit thin. Not my type of film.
