Made by Sally Hawkins. An amusing tongue in cheek comic book kind of film. Surprisingly, weirdly believable and all it took to get her man was an egg and Glen Milller. All “Toto” – no Bull! Didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. Amazing. What a concept! What a film! Some splendid acting from most of the performers. My interest was gripped to the very end. And I loved the music too! Different! Soppy and American, but really well done. Original. A beautifully told love story. A wonderful piece of romantic makebelieve. Rather bizarre but, although not my type of film, found it “entertaining”. Well acted and directed. Otherwise complete fantasy. No subtitles please. Lots of moral messages wrapped in glorious music. King Kong meets Spider Man and finishes like Aida. Enjoyed the first half – nice mix of comedy, James Bond, etc., then got silly and sillier and ….. Not sure, but with good bits.
