This is the way to teach history. Brilliant portrayal. Well deserved Oscar! Acting, camerawork, music so atmospheric. Time flew. What a great performance from Gary Oldman. Stirring stuff. Should Mrs May take notes? A captivating film – 1940 is not that long ago! Stirring stuff. Excellent portrayal of Churchill. Superb performance with great camerawork and direction. Gary Oldman – outstanding. Too many dramatic pauses that weren’t very dramatic! Otherwise, entertaining. Inspiring stuff! Perhaps more so if there hadn’t been so much caricature. Don’t think Teresa May would get the same response on the District Line. So a typist won the war for us – who knew? Astonishing make-up. Nice old props but much too long – I thought the underground train scene ridiculous. Very good acting but found the dramatization and atmospheric lighting hard going.
